A man has been charged with the attempted murder of a Thirsk pensioner on Thursday, November 5.
The 85-year-old man was found at his home at The Flatts in Sowerby, Thirsk with serious injuries by police at around 8.20pm following a report of a concern for safety.
He was then taken to James Cook hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
A 29-year-old man from Thirsk has been charged with attempted murder and theft and will appear at Northallerton Magistrates Court on Monday 9 November.
