Man charged with threatening to kill a woman in Harrogate bar

A Harrogate man who allegedly threatened to kill a woman in a bar will appeared in court today.

The 47-year-old man from Harrogate appeared at Northallerton Magistrates’ Court today (March 2) charged with two counts of making threats to kill.

Police arrested him following an incident in Rehab Bar on Parliament Street in the early hours of Saturday morning (February 28).

He was remanded in custody and will appear before York Crown Court on March 16.

Although charges have been brought in this case, police are still urging witnesses to come forward.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who came to the aid of a woman who was allegedly being threatened by a man either in Rehab Bar or further down the street towards Debenhams at around 2.10am on Saturday.

The victim, a woman in her 40s, is being supported by North Yorkshire Police.
