Man arrested on Harrogate street after reports he threatened neighbours with a knife

A man has been arrested after armed police responded to a call that he was threatening neighbours and had a knife in his possession.

The incident occurred on Strawberry Dale at around 2.43pm this afternoon, Friday.

Officers attended the scene and a cordon was put in place around the property. They also put local road closures in place, to protect members of the public while the incident was ongoing.

The man is now in police custody and the roads have been reopened.

A second man was also arrested on suspicion of obstructing the police. Although not part of the original incident, he caused disruption inside the cordon while officers dealt with the incident. He is also in police custody at this time.
