Inflatable mascot stolen from Harrogate football club
Owners of a giant inflatable mascot were left feeling deflated when motor mascot Trusty was stolen from a busy Harrogate road.
Motor industry mascot Trusty - who is not affiliated to the Vanarama North club - was taken from outside the CNG Stadium on Wetherby Road on Tuesday (September 16) between 6.30pm and 9.30pm.
Owners were fit to burst when they heard the news, as Trusty was attached to a power supply and fan which cost around £2,500.
Pumped-up North Yorkshire Police have launched an expansive appeal to find Trusty.
Anyone who witnessed the inflatable being stolen, has come across it, or knows where it is now, to contact them, along with anyone with any other information about the incident.
PC Peter Taylforth of Harrogate Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “The inflatable is quite large and of a distinctive design.
“It would not be of any use to anyone other than the organisation it was intended for.
“Also, anyone attempting to remove it would have been visible to any passers-by.
“It’s possible that people who saw it being taken didn’t think anything suspicious was happening.
“I urge anyone who has any information about the theft, to contact the police as soon as possible.”
If you wish to remain anonymous, you can pass information to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
