The bride was celebrating her big day at the Crown Inn near Boroughbridge as vandals scratched up to 15 cars parked outside the pub.

The vehicles were parked around the green outside between 7.45pm and 10.30pm when the attack took place with family and friends at the wedding both targeted.

The bride's mother said the attack put a dampner what should have been the perfect day for her daughter.

She said: "Our niece was going home when we first realised what had happened. She came back in and said that the cars parked outside had been scratched.

"They'd been attacked with a Stanley knife or a screwdriver. Everybody was so upset afterwards and a lot of the cars which were damaged were new.

"It's going to be a lot of money to repair them because they've scratched all over the cars. It really put a dampner on such a special day and the next morning was very upsetting."
