Modestas Mieziunas, 34, of Flat 9, Westcliffe Court, 50 Cold Bath Road, Harrogate, was ordered to carry out 80 hours of unpaid work for assault. He must pay compensation of £50, a victim surcharge of £60, costs of £85 and a criminal courts charge of £150.

Mark Alan Cartwright, 29, of 1 St John’s Crescent, Harrogate, was ordered to carry out 150 hours of unpaid work for indecent exposure. He was given a five-year sexual harm prevention order and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £60, costs of £620 and a criminal courts charge of £1,000.

Stefan Antonio Slack, 21, of 7 Avenue Street, Harrogate, was fined £75 for possession of cannabis at Ripon Way, Carlton Miniott, Thirsk. He was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £20, costs of £85 and a criminal courts charge of £150. Magistrates ordered that the cannabis be forfeited and destroyed. For a second offence of failing to surrender to custody, he was ordered to be detained in the courthouse until the court rose.

Diego Miguel Ferrera Filipe, 33, of 9 Claro Road, Harrogate, was fined £400 for driving while under the influence of alcohol at Kex Gill Road, Blubberhouses. He was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £40, costs of £620 and a criminal courts charge of £520. He was disqualified from driving for 14 months, to be reduced by 14 weeks on completion of an approved course.

Ian Blemings, 65, of Flat 6, 38 Mayfield Grove, Harrogate, was ordered to pay a criminal courts charge of £150 for failing to surrender to custody at Harrogate Magistrates’ Court. No separate penalty was imposed for being drunk and disorderly, or for committing an offence while subject to a conditional discharge.

Ryan James Law, 21, of no fixed address, was ordered to carry out 170 hours of unpaid work for having a kitchen knife and a clever knife in his possession at Harrogate District Hospital.

He must pay a victim surcharge of £60, costs of £300 and a criminal courts charge of £180. Magistrates ordered that the two knives be forfeited and destroyed.

Stephen Lewis, 43, of 59H The Lido, Knaresborough, was given a four-week curfew for using threatening behaviour with intent to cause harassment, alarm or distress, at Asda in Bower

Road, Harrogate. For a count of racially-aggravated behaviour, a three-year restraining order was applied, preventing him from contacting the victim and from entering Asda in Harrogate.

He was ordered to pay a £60 victim surcharge and £300 costs.

Gary Watson, 34, of 94 Bankside Street, Chapeltown, Leeds, was given a 10-week prison sentence for handling a stolen Ford Transit on Otley Road in Beckwithshaw. A four-week suspended sentence given for a separate offence in March was activated and will run consecutively. He was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £80 and a criminal courts charge of £180. No separate penalty was given for driving without insurance.

The following were among those dealt with at Harrogate Magistrates Court on October 21 for non-payment of council tax:

Melissa Eggleston, of 10 Hartwith Close, Harrogate, was ordered to pay £1,744.59 or in default serve 28 days suspended. Anthony Harper, of 19 Cundall Avenue, Asenby, Thirsk, £1,751.30 or in default 28 day suspended. Graham Walker, of 57 Woodfield Drive, Harrogate, £1,658.54 or in default 28 days suspended.
