A gang of men jumped on a cyclist in Harrogate late on Sunday night, knocking out one of his teeth in a random attack.

The 32-year-old Harrogate man, targeted by three men on Jennyfield Drive, was treated in hospital for facial injuries including a broken nose.

Police say he had been cycling home at about 11pm on Sunday when he was attacked near a ginnel close to Harewood Drive.

Detectives are now investigating and appealing for any witnesses to the unprovoked attack, or who saw thre men wearing dark-coloured clothing, to come forward.
