Elderly woman taken to hospital after serious collision between Knaresborough and Boroughbridge

Police are appealing for witnesses after a serious collision occurred this morning, Monday, on the A6055 between Knaresborough and Boroughbridge.

The incident happened at 11.53am and involved three cars.

The road is currently closed at Ferrensby crossroads with Arkendale and drivers are urged to avoid the area.

An elderly female passenger has been taken to Leeds General Infirmary with serious, but not believed to be life threatening, injuries.
