Elderly woman airlifted to hospital after Knaresborough crash

An elderly woman has been airlifted to hospital after a car crashed into a wall in Knaresborough.

The single-vehicle collision occurred on Nidd Bank just before 11.30am today (November 11) and involved a red three-door saloon car.

Ambulance, fire and police crews attended the scene and the woman was taken by air ambulance to Leeds General Infirmary in a serious condition.

Collision investigators are examining the scene and the car is due to be recovered. Police enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the crash.
