A pair of distinctive competition motorbikes have been stolen in a house burglary in Harrogate.

The bikes – a black and orange 2011 KTM 250 SFX and a black and orange 2012 KTM 250 SFX – were taken in a burglary on Mallinson Grove.

The burglars are believed to have struck sometime between 10.15pm on Thursday, July 31 and 12.30pm the following day.

Investigating officers are urging anyone with information about the burglary to come forward.

The 2011 model had a Red Bull graphic set attached to it and the race number 227 on the side, say police.

It had one black wheel and one silver wheel.

The 2012 edition had a JSTAR graphic set on the side and the race number 41.

This bike also had one black and one silver wheel, say police.

Officers would also like to hear from anyone who may have been offered either bike for sale.

“It is highly likely that any distinctive stickers or numbers will have been removed by the offenders by now,” said Det Con Sam Harding, of Harrogate CID.

“But there are many other distinctive marks and items on these particular bikes, so if you see something similar then please don’t hesitate to contact me.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, selecting option two and asking for DC Sam Harding or Harrogate CID.

Alternatively, information can be emailed to sam.harding@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk quoting the reference number 12140128945.
