Gold and diamond jewellery stolen in a house burglary in Tockwith is being hunted by detectives.

Detectives at Harrogate CID are appealing for witnesses and information after offenders made off with a range of jewellery after entering a house between 6.30pm and 10pm on Sunday October 12.

The stolen jewellery includes a platinum eternity ring with red stones, a three stone diamond ring in yellow gold, and two gold rings with a black opal in each.

The burglars also stole a gold oval-shaped brooch with a wheel-type design in the middle, numerous pieces of costume jewellery, including pearl necklaces, and a green suede jewellery role which contained most of the jewellery.

Detectives are urging people with information or possible sighting of suspicious people or vehicles in the Tockwith area at the time to come forward.

Det Sgt Hannah Wright said: “We are doing everything we can to catch the offenders and also support the homeowner who is naturally very distressed by the ordeal.

“To assist the investigation it is important that people come forward with any relevant information that could help us to identify those responsible for the burglary.

“Even the smallest piece of details could be vital so please do not hesitate to get in touch.”
