A cyclist has been killed in a collision near Wetherby.
North Yorkshire Police are appealing for witnesses after a the 38-year-old man, believed to be from the Wetherby area, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident occurred at around 5.20pm yesterday, Thursday October 17, on the B1224 York Road.
The cyclist was riding from Bickerton towards Wetherby with a grey Vauxhall Astra and a black Ford Fiesta travelling behind him, when all three vehicles were overtaken by a black Vauxhall Corsa around 120 metres from Spring Lane.
As the Corsa passed the line of traffic, the cyclist collided with the Astra and the Fiesta.
The Corsa failed to stop at the scene of the collision and officers are urging its driver to come forward and help with their enquiries.
The road was closed while officers investigated the incident but was reopened at around 12.40am this morning.
