Crime File with Harrogate Police

Police are appealing for information and witnesses to the following crimes which have been reported in the town;

l Thieves broke into a car on Grantley Close overnight between November 16 and 17, stealing a sat nav.

l A car had its window smashed and GPS system stolen while parked overnight on Valley Drive between November 18 and 19. An iPod was also stolen.

l A car parked overnight on St John’s Grove had part of its exhaust, including the catalytic convertor, stolen between November 19 and 20.

l Tools were stolen from a commercial premises on Hornbeam Park after thieves got in overnight between November 17 and 18.

l A local youth was arrested this week in connection with daytime house burglaries in the Bilton area of Harrogate.

l A log splitter and hammer drill were stolen from an outbuilding on Regent Parade some time between November 7 and 18.

l Police have received two reports this week of thefts from shoppers whilst in supermarkets. The first was the theft of a handbag from inside a trolley and the other a theft of a purse, taken from inside a handbag.

Anyone with information about the above crimes is asked to call Harrogate Police on 101, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.

Crime prevention advice - Police are advising people not to leave valuables, including iPods, phones and sat navs in cars when left unattended. Officers are also warning shoppers to keep handbags secure and close to them at all times.

Police engagements - PCSO Mark Emsley will be at the Fairfax Community Centre Christmas Fair between 10am and noon this Saturday, November 30.
