Burglars strike at Harrogate M&S

Burglars have struck at the new M&S Food store on Leeds Road in Harrogate.

Police were alerted by supermarket staff in the early hours of this morning (Thursday), reporting an alarm going off.

Officers arrived to find that burglars had broken into the site. They are still trying to determine what, if anything, was stolen.

“We were called at 4.40am this morning by a member of staff saying that an alarm was going off at the M&S Food store on Leeds Road,” said a spokesman for North Yorkshire Police.

“We attended and found it had been broken into. We are checking CCTV footage from the scene.

“We are still in the early stages of an investigation and there are no arrests at this time.”
