Appeal after flasher strikes on Stray

A FLASHER who struck on Harrogate’s Stray on Thursday could be the same one who has been reported for the past two years.

Around 9.30pm on Thursday, July 28, a man exposed himself in front of a 43-year-old female dog walker, between Tewit Well Road and York Place.

The woman was not approached by the man, but was left very shocked and reported the incident to police when she got home.

The suspect, who emerged naked from behind a bush, was described as white, aged between 30 and 40, around 6ft tall and of slim to medium build.

harrogate police are investigating the possibility it may be the same man reported for indecent exposure around the Tewit Well and Stray Rein area over the past two years.

Detective Constable Helen Quaife, of Harrogate CID, said: “The police are advising people to be aware of this man and I urge anyone who witnesses similar suspicious activity to get in touch immediately.

“Although it is important to note that he hasn’t harmed anyone, this man’s behaviour is totally unacceptable.”
