Colour Run boost for hospice

Hundreds of local runners took part in Martin House’s Colour Run last Sunday after the starting horn was aired by the Boston Spa-based children’s hospice’s Ambassador and ITV Calendar presenter Christine Talbot.

The event saw participants all ages make their way around the 3.5km course at Stockeld Park, Wetherby, while being doused head to toe in colour at stations along the route and helping to raise over £10,000.

Caroline Hudson, Events Manager, said: “We couldn’t be happier with this year’s event. Despite the early morning downpour, it was wonderful to see such a big turnout.

“Everyone seemed to have a good time and the runners made a really spectacular sight as they crossed the finish line.”

The final amount raised will be confirmed in the coming weeks and participants are encouraged to hand in remaining sponsorship as soon as possible.
