Ripon Sailing Club, located in Farnham, Knaresborough, is an RYA Champion Club and one of the area’s best kept secrets.

“It is among the best family-friendly clubs in the UK and prides itself on catering for all the family, whatever their age or sailing ability,” said a spokesman.

The Push the Boat Out Open Day, 10.30am-4.30pm, will offer visitors the chance to enjoy a free taster sail with one of the club’s experienced instructors, have a guided tour of the clubhouse and facilities, talk to club members and see some of the junior sailors in action on the water in the afternoon.

The Club is one of the most successful Youth and Junior Sailing Clubs in the country and in 2015 brought home regional, national and world championship titles.

Children can learn to sail on RYA training courses from age seven and the club runs regular coaching activities throughout the year so that young sailors can build their sailing and racing skills, make friends and have fun.

“The RYA Push The Boat Out Open Day initiative is in its fifth year and Ripon Sailing Club is looking forward to participating in this exciting national initiative and welcoming visitors to come and see their local sailing club,” added the spokesman.
