An UWFRA statement read: “Pain relief had already been administered by the YAS crews on scene and, with this taking effect, team members assisted in splinting the injured leg and packaging the casualty on to a stretcher.

“With sufficient numbers on scene the casualty was carried back down to the road and transferred into the ambulance for onward transport to hospital.

“The Team stood down at 10.18om and returned to their homes.

“This was the Team’s first callout using SARCall since YAS went live with the system at the end of April.”

SARCall is a web based system developed by Mountain Rescue members in the North West and provides a means that the calling agencies, usually the Police and Ambulance, can callout Mountain rescue teams and that the teams can enter updates either remotely or from a base computer as the incident develops.
