Preparations are underway once again for the 2012 Nidderdale Show and show schedules are now available.

Organisers say that with £23,000 in prize money to give away and top class entertainment in the main ring, this year’s show on September 24 is one not to be missed.

The Inch Perfect Trials Display Team, to display in the main ring, is a professional motorcycle display team who provide action packed entertainment, demonstrating their skills in balance and extreme control for audiences nationwide.

Musical entertainment is going to be provided for the Show this year by the Meltham and Meltham Mills Brass Band, along with local bands the Lofthouse and Middlesmoor Silver Band and the St Cuthbert’s Primary School Band.

Additional attractions include the long running local cricket match – this year between the Craven League XI v Nidderdale XI, there is also the Young Farmers Mascot Football, Terrier Racing along with all the usual attractions.

There are also a number of new classes available this year including:

Cattle - British Blonde - Any Other Pure Breed – Continental, Any Other Pure Breed – Native

Sheep - Zwartbles

Wool - Fleece off Jacob or coloured wool, Fleece off Down or Down cross, Fleece off any other continental or continental cross, Fleece off any other long wool, Fleece or clipping of any other wool (eg. alpaca)

Vegetables & Flowers – Turnips, Parsnips, Courgettes, Potato in a bucket, Cut Herbs, Planted patio pot

Copies can also be picked up in a variety of shops in Pateley Bridge. The closing date for entries is Saturday September 1, closing date for Dog Show entries is Tuesday August 28.

Entries will be also allowed on the day for Show Jumping, Dry Stone Walling and Children’s Pet Classes.
