Chris Berry Band strikes up to raise notes for Pavilion

Chris Berry is bringing his band back to Scholes Village Hall for the first time in three years next month for a very special occasion.

Last year Scholes Cricket Club’s pavilion was burned down and while the insurance has covered the cost of the shell of the new building funds are needed for the interior.

The evening to be held on Saturday March 25 starting at 7.30pm will include two bands with young Scholes cricketer Dane Emmott’s band playing a showcase set at 8pm.

The rest of the event will include an auction run by club bowler Steve Cohen, food, bar and The Chris Berry Band playing everything from Brown Eyed Girl to Summer of 69 and The Stereophonics to The Beatles from 10pm.

“It’s all about raising much needed funds,” said Chris. “Scholes CC has a proud history. I played for the club for many years and we all want this night to be a real celebration of the club, hopefully encourage more involvement in its future and to have a great night.

“The club committee has gone to town on this and we are delighted to play our part. The aim is for the night to raise around £2,500. There’s a 150 capacity and so far 110 tickets have been sold, so it’s going well. If you want to support the club and have a fabulous night out at the same time then snaffle up the remaining 40 tickets as soon as you can because they will certainly all go before the night and probably in the next week or two.”
