AVID golfers clubbed together to raise more than £4,000 in aid of Henshaws College at its fifth annual golf day last month.

Businesses from the region came together at the 18-hole Harrogate Golf Club to practice their putting, take part in the Blind Chipping Challenge, enjoy the barbecue, raffle and other fun events.

Euro Aerials were triumphant on the day with each member awarded a hand-crafted bench designed by the artists of Henshaws Arts and Crafts Centre.

Students from the college were on hand to meet the sponsors and had a stall set up at the half way house selling Sweet Treats, from their social enterprise.

Hannah Saxon community events and fundraiser at Henshaws College said: “It was a nice opportunity for our sponsors to meet the students and get to know them and see what they do at the college.”

She said Henshaws relies heavily on charitable donations and that the money raised on the day would ensure the college was able to continue working across the North of England providing facilities and support for people with visual impairments and disabilities.

“We were so glad to see such a great turn out and would like to congratulate the winners from Euro Aerials and thank all our sponsors who made the day a success.”
