Ceremony marks hard work of Harrogate Sea Cadets
The Mayor of Harrogate, Coun Jim Clark joined the Mayoress, Coun Shirley Fawcett and Naval Commander, Clarence Franklin Jnr, RAF Menwith Hill to make the presentations at the Cedar Court Hotel in Harrogate on
Monday.
A total of 11 awards were presented in several categories with 13-year- old Zac Reeves receiving Best Junior Cadet and 16-year-old Edward Buckle winning Leading Senior Cadet.

Hide AdBoth received a full bursary for a naval voyage this summer on ships T.S Royalist or Jack Petchy.
Harrogate Sea Cadets’ Commanding Officer, Michelle Blackburn said: “The annual awards evening recognises the achievements of Harrogate Sea Cadets throughout the year.
“They all work extremely hard learning naval skills, fundraising, taking part in competitions and gaining nationally recognised qualifications.
“Our aim is to inspire young people through nautical adventure and challenge to give them a head start
in life.
“We look at developing self-confidence and teamwork skills through a whole range of activities from playing in a band to sailing a tall
ship.”
Sea Cadets is the UK’s largest nautical youth charity.
