Campaigners to protest at RAF Menwith Hill tomorrow
A public meeting in Harrogate will precede a demonstration outside the intelligence facility.
Protesters will gather in Harrogate before travelling to RAF Menwith Hill tomorrow (Saturday, October 24) to call for the closure of the US intelligence base.

The event, organised by the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND), Yorkshire CND and the Menwith Hill Accountability Campaign, will begin with a public meeting at Friends Meeting House from noon to 2pm.
Participants will then travel to the base for a demonstration planned for 3pm, returning at 4pm.
Organisers say the protest will feature giant inflatable golf balls representing the base’s white radomes, with participants attempting to kick or hit them into buckets decorated with US flags, while others wearing masks of Donald Trump try to stop them.
RAF Menwith Hill, near Harrogate, is a major US intelligence facility. The campaign groups say the demonstration is intended to raise awareness of the base’s role and call for greater accountability.
People wishing to attend are advised to register in advance to book transport to the site, where parking near the main gate is limited.
Further details and registration are available at the event organisers’ booking page.
