Harrogate’s first pound shop is set to open on Thursday at the Victoria Shopping Centre.
Harrogate Mayor Mike Newby will officially cut the ribbon at the 5.000 square foot Poundworld store on Thursday (October 17) at 10am.
The Yorkshire-based retail chain’s move to Harrogate will create 30 new jobs locally.
The store boasts that it will provide recession busting offers on over 5,000 products in the shop.
Chris Edwards Junior, trading director at Poundworld, said: “We’re delighted to be opening our new store in Harrogate.
“Poundworld will be the first single-priced retailer to open in Harrogate and we hope that the new store will go down well will savvy shoppers in the area who are looking to combat the rising cost of every day living.
“For those who have never visited one of our stores, we’d urge Harrogate shoppers to come and take a look at what’s on offer – there’s some great savings to be made on items included branded cleaning products, beauty items and groceries. We’ve also got a fantastic Halloween range from party ware and decorations to costumes and accessories.”
