Harrogate's Rudding Park hotel team celebrate their triple success in the Tripadvisor awards.

A Harrogate hotel has achieved a triple whammy by scooping a trio of accolades at the TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards 2013.

Rudding Park Hotel was voted Number One Hotel in the UK, second in the Top Hotels of Europe and fourth in the Top Hotels of the World in the awards, triumphing over some of the finest hotels in London.

It’s the third time in the last four years that Rudding Park, which is based on the outskirts of the town near Follifoot, has won the national award.

The prestigious recognition is based solely on the millions of real and unbiased reviews and opinions from travellers gathered on the travel guide website

Peter Banks, managing director at Rudding Park, said: “Winning this national award three times in the last four years is a tremendous achievement. The fact we are also placed as a top hotel in Europe and The World is a wonderful accomplishment for the whole team.

“Travellers may use star ratings as a guide but it is TripAdvisor where genuine travellers express their opinions. These opinions then help other members of the TripAdvisor community make their choice with confidence. Hotels are now judged on every guest’s experience on a daily basis so there is nowhere to hide!

“I am extremely proud of every member of our team. We strive to provide the best possible value through a real care for our guests, experienced within the highest quality environment.

“TripAdvisor is once again thrilled to recognise the world’s most outstanding hotels with the help of more than 75 million reviews and opinions from travellers around the globe,” said Christine Petersen, president, TripAdvisor for Business.

Gary Verity, chief executive of Welcome to Yorkshire, said: “This is an incredible achievement, and one that is richly deserved. Yorkshire’s quality hotels stand out from the rest of the UK and Rudding Park is a great example of a hotel that is constantly looking to raise the bar.”

Set around a Grade I listed Regency house, facilities at the four star hotel include 90 bedrooms, Clocktower 2 AA rosette restaurant, spa, gym, cinema, conference and events venue, 18 hole Hawtree Course, 6 hole par 3 Repton Short Course, golf academy and Rudding Holiday Park.

Recent awards include being voted ‘Number One Hotel in the UK’ in TripAdvisor’s Travellers’ Choice Awards 2011 and 2010, ‘Most Outstanding Service’ at the Condé Nast Johansens Awards 2012 and ‘Silver Award for Hotel of the Year’ at Visit England’s Awards for Excellence 2012.
