Closure fears for care home

A HARROGATE home for retired Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) staff could be set to close.

The Sunday Telegraph reports that the firm is struggling to keep open its Courtfield care home at St James’ Drive, due to financial losses.

RBS’s Care Homes Foundations owns three retirement homes - the others are in Torquay and Canterbury - but all are under threat, with only half the 90 bedrooms currently occupied.

According to the paper, residents will be given three months’ notice and £1,000 to cover relocation costs.
