B&Q takes on Focus store

The Focus DIY store in Harrogate has been bought by B&Q.

The move safeguards all 30 jobs at the store, which is still open on the Oak Beck retail park off Skipton Road.

The premises will be transferred to B&Q next Tuesday, July 19.

B&Q’s parent company, Kingfisher, announced on May 6 that, following the appointment of administrators at Focus DIY Limited and Do It All Limited, it had agreed to buy up to 31 leasehold properties for £23m in cash.

B&Q has 360 stores across the UK. It is the largest home improvement and garden centre retailer in the UK and Europe, and the third largest in the world.
