Aldi has announced that they will be opening their new Ripon store this summer.
The budget supermarket was given the go ahead to open in Ripon in August 2014, after plans were unanimously approved by Harrogate Borough Council.
However, the opening of the new store, which will be based at the former gasworks site on Stonebridgegate, had been delayed due to construction problems.
Complications with the site had caused the hold up in the building process but the company has now revealed they are set for a summer opening.
Aldi's opening date was announced as the store launched a recruitment drive to fill more than 30 positions.
Steve Barnett, Aldi Regional Managing Director, said: “The new Aldi Ripon store, which is part of our planned expansion across North Yorkshire during 2016, has created a significant number of store positions for people living in Ripon and the surrounding areas.
“We are looking to attract applicants from a diverse range of backgrounds, including supermarket, fast-food and clothing chains, who can demonstrate relevant experience, a passion for retail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.”
The store is looking to take on around 20 store assistants, five stock assistants, four deputy store managers and three apprentices.
