Budding songwriters can tune in at library

Musician Alex Cromarty will hold four free songwriting workshops at Bilton and Woodfield Community Library in February.

Organisers say the whole community can get involved in this project and people don’t need to be able to play an instrument, or be an experienced singer.

“You just need to be willing to contribute ideas, happy to work in collaboration with other people and willing to give new things a try,” said a spokesman.

“Come along to share and discover how your ideas can be transformed into music and songs by Alex.”

Sessions are free and everyone is welcome.

The dates of the workshops are: Wednesday February 3, 10, 17 and Wednesday 24, 1-3pm for adults and 4-6pm for young people.

The workshops are part of the Creative Residences programme bringing Artists into Libraries.

“This is a countywide project, the aim of the Programme is to widen participation in artistic activity, raise the profile of libraries and engage with children, families and older people to develop intergenerational projects that will be fun and inspiring,” added the spokesman.
