Dan Harris continued his fine start to the season by making 49 of the away team’s tally, however George Hirst’s superb six-wicket haul meant Wath were soon back in the pavilion and Jon Millward’s men then knocked off the required runs inside 21 overs.

The highest-scoring contest of the day saw Knaresborough Forest post 213/9 against Helperby, but this total wasn’t enough to avert a second defeat in as many games.

Aussie Jayden Harris (84) and Joel Ainsley (72) batted superbly for Forest as Joe Corner, Simon Webster, Brandon Bant and Al Darnell each bagged two wickets apiece.

Joss Spillman’s unbeaten 70 plus useful knocks from Joe Corner (43) and Dan Marston (43) then took Helperby to victory, despite 2-26 from Harris.

Masham finished week two top of the pile courtesy of a five-wicket triumph at Darley.

After their dream start to life in the Nidderdale League last weekend, Kirk Deighton were brought back down to earth by Killinghall.

Matt Wall and Jon Smith both hit 29 as Richard Ward’s men were dismissed for just 110 in their second division clash, Dan Atkinson claiming fine figures of 4-9 and Ben Atkinson 3-15.

A knock of 35 from Dan Atkinson then saw him complete a fine afternoon’s work, helping Killinghall to 112/8 in reply despite four wickets for Smith.

Raskelf are the only side in the division with a 100 per cent record after two games.

The early pacesetters bowled Blubberhouses out for 131, thanks largely to Robert Sigsworth’s 5-18, then completed a six-wicket triumph with Rob Galtrey striking an unbeaten 52.

Nick Harland hit 56 for Studley Royal at Pateley Bridge but his side were restricted to 158/9.

In reply, Luke Clarke (40) and Miles Sutton (38 not out) guided the Badgers to a six-wicket success inside 27 overs.
