Riders of all ages made the most of a chance to ride through Bramham Park recently, enjoying some spectacular views. Over 120 riders, aged from five to over 70, took part in the sponsored ride to raise money for the Stockeld Park group of Riding for the Disabled.

There was a choice of routes with only a few people choosing the shorter ride of about six miles within the park. Most took the longer option of 11 miles which included tracks and bridleways outside the park.

The group, which is based at Sicklinghall, is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year.

Organisers were delighted that the event raised over £6,500 which will help to provide weekly lessons for children with learning and physical disablities from four schools in the area.

The sponsored ride is held annually, courtesy of the Lane Fox family and had backing this year from law firm Irwin Mitchell.
