Bolton Abbey to open pop-up beach just in time for the summer holidays

One of Yorkshire's most picturesque visitor attractions is opening its own pop-up beach this summer.

Bolton Abbey staff are currently laying out a beach area on the banks of the River Wharfe, in front of the Cavendish Pavilion.

The estate near Skipton is hugely popular with families during the summer months, and is also running open-air cinema evenings this August.And if you want to stay in the city, Leeds City Council's City Beach attraction - which features fairground rides, seaside toys, entertainment and food stalls - opens in its new home of Victoria Gardens on August 11.
