BOB route to student bus discounts

Harrogate College and The Harrogate Bus Company have teamed up to let students know about BOB, the smart card that offers up to 35 per cent off standard bus fares.

The card, provided by Transdev who run The Harrogate Bus Company, is available to students aged 19 or under and can be used on any of their services that run in, or start in North Yorkshire.

The company believe BOB is the best way for young people to get out and about, as it can be used on any day of the week, at any time and on any service.

Alex Hornby CEO at Transdev, said: “We’re delighted to be partnering with Harrogate College to help spread the word about BOB.

“We know it’s important for young people to be able to access affordable travel all year round, so we’ve worked hard to provide great value fares.

“We’ve tried to make it as easy as possible to access them too. All students have to do is go online and complete a form, then BOB’s your uncle … the BOB card is on its way.”

Grace Todd Marketing Manager at Harrogate College said: “We’re all extremely excited about the arrival of the BOB card. Harrogate College is proud to be teaming up with Transdev to inform students of this great opportunity to access affordable travel, with a card that can be used on any service and at any time of the day.”

Anyone aged between 11 and 18 can travel with BOB for a discounted rate until the day before their 19th birthday. Full time students over 19 can travel with BOB with college ID.
