School News: pupils from St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School will be dressing up as a character; from the book they are reading. Joining them on Thursday, March 7 to talk about the money they raised for CADFOD through reading will be Deacon David Arblaster. Bishop Thornton CE Primary School will be joining in World Book Day on Friday, March 8, where the children will going to school dressed as a favourite character. Throughout the day the children will be involved in activities, which will be based on good examples of children’s literature.

Red Nose Day: on Friday, March 15 the children from Bishop Thornton CE Primary School can come into school with wacky hair, for a minimum payment of £1 for Comic Relief.

Wanted: Bishop Thornton CE Primary School would be grateful for donations of spare or left over balls of wool, to be added to the school collection. Please ask friends, relations and neighbours if they have any.

Booster Seat: do you have an outgrown booster seat you could donate to Bishop Thornton CE Primary School, to be used when staff take the children out in their cars, please give them to Mrs Ward.

St Joseph’s Day: March 19 when St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School will be joining the Parish Mass in church at 9.30am.

Theatre Experience: Class 1 children from Bishop Thornton CE Primary School will be joining Key Stage 1 children at Birstwith CE Primary School on March 5 for a visit from a theatre group who will be visiting the school. They will be using the hall at Bristwith to watch a production based on the literature of Julia Donaldson. The children will be involved in acting workshops. Thank you to the PTA for funding this event for the children.

Orienteering: the infants from St Joseph’s Cathoil Primary School will take part in the cluster orienteering at Kirby Malzeard after half term.

Parish Council: Bishop Thornton and Warsill Parish Council meeting this evening 7.30pm in St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School. Why not pop along to find out what your councillors do on your behalf and what’s happening with plans in the parish.
