The Big Picnic, which raises money for children’s facilities at the hospital, has proved hugely popular with families since it was launched in 2008.
Every year, thousands of people descend on the Valley Gardens for a day of fun and this year’s event, on July 8, promises to be the best yet.
“It’s a day for families to come together, experience the lovely Valley Gardens and enjoy themselves,” said organiser Kirsty Minshall.
“Throughout the day there will be lots of great family fun attractions including Punch & Judy, fairground rides, bouncy castle, face painting, art workshops, a variety of stalls ... and lots more!”
This year there will be a Teapot Treasure Hunt with partners Rapture Gallery, which is creating giant teapots and tea cups ahead of the event.
Supported by The Rotary Club of Harrogate, Harrogate Borough Council and Friends of Harrogate Hospital, past Big Picnics have raised money for the High Dependencey Unit for children at Harrogate Hospital.
This year the aim is to raise £10,000 for a sensory room which would help children with physical and learning difficulties, such as those with autism or cerebral palsy.
Stall places are still available, to find out more email firstname.lastname@example.org, or search on Facebook.
