Bake Off cakes fit for a Queen

Tadcaster Grammar School students held a House Bake-Off to celebrate the Queen's 90th Birthday.

Since the Queen’s actual birthday in April, TGS students have been busy learning about the Queen, planning assemblies, quizzes and activities in Tutor time and gathering together to share and celebrate a picnic style birthday party to mark her official birthday.

Miss McKenzie, Head of Oglethorpe House and organiser of the event, said: “I am delighted and proud that many of our students showed creativity and talent in the Bake-off today.

“It was difficult to choose a winner and I was impressed that students celebrated each other’s efforts. Well Done to Molly Richardson from Wharfe House who was the overall winner and well done to all of the participants on a right royal occasion.”

A host of celebrations took place in the area. See pages 92 and 93.
