AMP Awards 2016: Knaresborough band victorious in Royal Hall spectacular

Mentors, sponsors, business teams, front of house, merchandise - this year's AMP Awards had it all, including great performances from secondary schools' bands.

The event took place at Harrogate's Royal Hall.

Competing in the grant final of this luxurious battle of the bands in Harrogate's Royal Hall, this was the best musical line-up in terms of edge, originality and musicality featuring young bands from schools across North Yorkshire.

The winners in terms of music turned out be King James's Two Tone Rust who were the cockiest band of the night, bravely blending brutal garage band rock with old skool rapping.llll

The and which finished runners-up were Schrodinger's Cat from St Aidan's High School, who relived the 1970s in highly impressive style like MickTaylor still played in the Rolling Stones.

The third-placed band were I Fly Economy from Queen Ethelburga's School who featured a brilliant young female singer and whose upbeat semi-organic Americanisms were ridiculously good.
