The chairman of a local motor group is on a mission to raise more than £1m by running the London Marathon.
Richard Jackson, of Nidd Vale, is no stranger to marathons having already completed six. But this will be his first for 10 years and in the meantime he has been fitted with a pacemaker.
He has already raised more than £400,000 towards his appeal for charities including The Prince’s Trust, St John Ambulance, The Friends of Physically Disabled, Able Bodied, and the West Yorkshire Medic Response Team.
Mr Jackson will be fundraising using a traditional sponsorship form and he is also offering others the opportunity to use him as a surrogate runner, allowing them to raise money for their preferred charity through this appeal.
The London Marathon takes place on April 17, to sponsor him, visit www.niddvale.co.uk
