The Harrogate Bus Company is launching a new offer to help customers beat the new Sunday parking charges being introduced in November.

Starting Sunday (October 2), the company will be offering bus rides costing £1 for a single across Harrogate, every Sunday throughout October.

Customers can pay £1 for a single on any bus in Harrogate during this period of time, including on the popular number 36 bus as far as Pannal, Spacey Houses to the south of the town and Killinghall to the north.

Chief Executive Officer at The Harrogate Bus Company, Alex Hornby, said: “We know that people love shopping, eating, drinking and relaxing in Harrogate on Sundays, so we’re introducing this offer to get people into town for less, hopefully boosting local business, trade and the economy in the process”.

County Coun Don Mackenzie, North Yorkshire's Executive Member for Highways said: "I welcome any initiative which encourages visitors to town to leave their cars at home and to use public transport. The introduction of on-street parking charges from 1000 to 1800 on Sundays seeks to manage traffic and congestion Harrogate town centre. This offer supports that aim".
