Expanding service for pets in Yorkshire: The Harrogate Vet opens new 24 hour emergency clinic

Local clinic – The Harrogate Vet – has opened its second practice. Here clinical director Katherine Jacklin BVetMed CertAVP MRCVS explains all about the new service, and what it means for animal lovers in the North Yorkshire spa town.

On 8th July we opened the doors to our second state-of-the-art practice in Ripon Road, Harrogate.

Across two floors and complementing the services already offered at our practice in Leeds Road, our Ripon Road practice embraces The Harrogate Vet ethos of a vets that is a comfortable place to be and where everybody feels welcome.

Times to suit you

With extended opening hours and five consulting rooms, we offer our clients a greater range of appointments six days a week to help fit around ever busy lifestyles. Our growing team work across both sites so clients are greeted by familiar faces and will quickly get to know the newest members of our friendly team.

We want our patients to feel at home with us. To keep stress to a minimum, the practice has a large reception area with separate cat and dog waiting areas, in addition to separate dog and cat hospital wards.

24 hour emergency care right here in Harrogate

Our pets are important members of the family. We want to ensure that our patients receive the best possible clinical care, whatever the time of day or night…and that their owners are cared for too!

Since we opened five years ago, we have dreamed of providing round the clock care for our patients, minimising their stress, avoiding travelling long distances and keeping their care consistent.

We are therefore delighted to announce we’re bringing emergency out of hours care for our patients 24/7, 365 days of the year at Ripon Road, cared for by our own team of vets and nurses. This allows us to provide overnight care to those that need it, and ensures consistency of care.

Extended services

The Ripon Road practice includes two operating theatres and a separate dental suite all kitted out with the latest veterinary equipment, we also have a CT scanner, digital x-ray and ultrasound facilities on site.

We continue to offer essential routine healthcare such as vaccinations, alongside more advanced services including surgery, laparoscopic surgery, CT imaging and testing of samples in our in-house laboratory. In addition, our veterinary nurse team offer a range of pet health care clinics all designed to help you keep your pet fit and healthy.

And we almost forgot to mention, Ripon Road has plenty of on-site parking including two electric charging points – what’s not to like?!

Since we opened at Leeds Road five years ago, our focus has been on offering exceptional care and the highest clinical standards to our patients, through a personalised and tailored service. Our ethos of being a local, friendly and welcoming practice is at the heart of everything we do.

Opening hours

The Harrogate Vet in Leeds Road and Ripon Road are both open Monday – Friday 8am – 7pm, Saturdays at Ripon Road from 9am – 5.30pm

Our out-of-hours service at Ripon Road runs from Monday to Friday (7pm till 8am) and from 5.30pm on Saturday through to 8am on Monday, including bank holidays.
