Uniquely positioned in the gardening calendar, the show is the only national flower show in the north of England to be held during the crucial early stages of the growing season.

Staged in late April, it arrives at a pivotal moment when gardens are just beginning to awaken, offering visitors the first opportunity to experience seasonal planting, creative garden design and floral inspiration on a significant scale.

A CELEBRATION OF SPRING IN FULL BLOOM

At the centre of the show is the vast Grand Floral Hall, spanning 4,000 square metres and filled with displays from plant nurseries and specialist societies.

Hundreds of varieties, both new and familiar, will be on show, giving visitors the chance to speak directly with growers and gather ideas for their own outdoor spaces.

Expert guidance will also be readily available, with the Garden Advice Bureau offering support throughout the event in partnership with the Chartered Institute of Horticulture.

Meanwhile, the popular Grow! Live Theatre will host a packed programme of talks and demonstrations led by garden writer and broadcaster Martin Fish.

NEW GARDENS, BIG IDEAS AND CREATIVE INSPIRATION

This year sees an exciting collaboration with the Association of Professional Landscapers (APL), introducing a collection of achievable small garden designs.

Created to reflect real-life spaces - from compact urban courtyards to suburban plots - these inspiring gardens will offer practical ideas visitors can take home and adapt.

The much-loved Show Gardens also return with gardens that inspire, connect, and evolve while the Creative Borders continue to demonstrate how even the smallest spaces can be transformed with imagination and flair.

FLORAL ART PAVILION – LET US ENTERTAIN YOU

The Floral Art Pavilion will once again provide one of the most visually spectacular areas of the show.

Expect a vibrant programme of displays inspired by fairgrounds, circuses and global celebration.

From large-scale student installations themed ‘All the Fun of the Fair’ to flamboyant carnival-inspired pieces such as ‘Rio Calling’, visitors can expect bold colour, movement and creativity at every turn.

Award-winning florist Yolanda Campbell will lead complimentary hands-on sessions celebrating sustainable floristry and British-grown flowers, offering visitors the opportunity to create a range of eco-friendly floral crafts.

Celebrity florist and show favourite Jonathan Moseley returns to the lively Create! stage with his signature demonstrations, sharing unique tips, techniques and floral inspiration throughout the show.

WORKSHOPS, TALKS AND HANDS-ON EXPERIENCES

Visitors can roll up their sleeves and get creative with a free floristry workshop hosted by local design studio Leafy Couture – producing a mini floral masterpiece to take home.

Budding gardeners can also join garden designer Nick Fryer for daily hands-on sessions focused on planting, design and practical garden improvement - perfect for those looking to bring fresh ideas back to their own outdoor spaces.

The Human Gardener feature returns with a changing daily line-up of horticulturists, foragers, arborists and botanical artists, offering thought-provoking insights into the people behind the plants.

Local chef Stephanie Moon also returns, sharing stories and recipes inspired by her North American campervan travels, recreating bold flavours in a uniquely theatrical cooking experience.

FOOD, GARDEN SHOPPING AND MORE

Beyond the gardens and floral displays, visitors can explore a wide range of shopping opportunities, from specialist plants and garden accessories to homeware, gifts, food and drink.

Tickets are priced at £29 for adults, with free entry for children under 16.

Tickets are available in advance online or on the gate each day of the show.
