Springfield Court launches Help to Buy scheme on homes

A Harrogate development has launched the government-backed Help to Buy scheme to help enable first time buyers in the town to get a step on the property ladder before changes to the scheme start in 2021.

Sringfield Court, from developer Newby, is just off King’s Road and will deliver 61 one, two and three-bedroom luxury apartments with private parking in a secure gated development. Many include outdoor space in the form of a garden patio or balcony.

The first residents of Springfield Court are already settled into their new homes and building work has also started on the second phase of the site.

There are a selection of remaining properties in Phase One, some including outside space.

With apartment’s starting at £250,000, a customer using the Help to Buy scheme would need just a five per cent deposit and with the 20 per cent Government loan, only a 75 per cent mortgage is required, making it easier to get on the property ladder.

Newby recommends speaking to a new build specialist mortgage advisor to find out more about the scheme.

Francesca Kaye at Newby said: “We’re delighted to now be able to offer the Help to Buy scheme on our Springfield Court development, to allow people to buy a brand new luxury home in a great location, which may not have been possible without the scheme.

“It has been well publicised how difficult it is for first time buyers in the current market, so the Help to Buy scheme gives them a much needed helping hand to take a first step on the ladder.

“Springfield Court has proved to be extremely popular with buyers of all ages – its proximity to Harrogate town Centre and the high-quality finish of the apartments appeal to people at a variety of different stages in their lives.

“And with the addition of the parking and those benefitting from the outside space, it is easy to see why.”
