Popular Harrogate bar hopes to reopen in safe way with new outdoors protection

The brainchild of three Harrogate men - Jim Mossman, Mick Wren and Roger Moxham - Cold Bath Brewing Co has been a big hit since the day it first opened in August 2018 with an emphasis on its own brews.

Although it has its own craft brewery, it is renowned for being more lager-based than some other indie bars.

After being closed, like other bars in the town, for much of the last year, Cold Bath Brewing Co is now hopeful it can make the most of the Government's new roadmap out of lockdown this spring.

Jim Mossman said: "It's good to see some light at the end of the tunnel at last. The first stage of opening on April 12 is well received, albeit for just outside.

"We’ve invested in a canopy to cover our outside terrace which helps manage the the lovely Yorkshire weather as well so we are very much looking forward to welcoming our customers back under safe conditions.

"Equally, continued cooperation from local government will be helpful to continue with outside designated zones for people to start using hospitality again.

"Hopefully ,by June we will all have a sense of normality back in our lives again and can get back to seeing friends and family again over a pint inside the pub."

Located near independent Italian restaurant, Stuzzi on Kings Road, Cold Bath Brewing Co, the bar also brews its own exceptionally clean beers with a particular focus on lager.

Boasting a Brewhouse and a Clubhouse next door, the indie bar has not been idle during lockdown - its latest brew is a new IPA with Rakau hops, a hop variety from New Zealand.

Cold Bath Rakau IPA is also the first beer they've released in cans and is available to buy online.
