Harrogate Asda partners with Uber Eats to trial super-fast home delivery

Asda has partnered with Uber Eats to offer customers in and around Harrogate a rapid delivery service to the doorstep in as little as 30 minutes.

The service – which is part of a larger trial between Asda and Uber Eats – has launched from the Bower Road store, giving customers a choice of over 300 Asda own-brand products and branded everyday items for speedy delivery, including; ready meals, fresh fruit and vegetables, and beer, wine and spirits.

The service has been introduced to offer customers greater flexibility and access to a range of different meal solutions and essentials.

Customers can shop in the same way as they would when ordering from a restaurant via the Uber Eats app. Once confirmed, the order is picked in-store by Asda colleagues before being collected and delivered by a courier using the Uber Eats app.

With no minimum basket size needed to place an order, customers can shop their favourite products for a convenient, contactless and cash-free delivery.

Simon Gregg, Vice President of Online Grocery at Asda, said: “We’re pleased extend our rapid grocery delivery partnership with Uber Eats to customers in Harrogate.

“This gives customers near the store more choice in how they shop with us and offers yet another way to quickly and conveniently get their favourite branded and own-brand products delivered to the doorstep.

“Customers can use the Uber Eats app to select from hundreds of items for delivery in the same way they would shop for a takeaway.”

The Uber Eats food delivery app is available in more than 120 towns and cities across the UK, including: Aberdeen, Bath, Belfast, Birmingham, Brighton, Bristol, Cambridge, Cardiff, Dublin, Edinburgh, Exeter, Glasgow, Ipswich, Leeds, Leicester, Liverpool, London, Manchester, Newcastle, Oxford, Portsmouth, Reading, Southampton, Swindon, Windsor and York.
