Ofsted praises county’s care services

SUPPORT for families at risk of entering the care system in North Yorkshire has been praised by Ofsted.

The county council’s children and young people’s service was described as a “beacon of good practice” for the way it helped young people who might otherwise be placed in care.

The authority was one of 11 highlighted nationally for their commitment to reducing the number of children in care. The success was said to be down to effective cooperation between different departments and organisations and the dedication of staff who were willing to respond quickly to help families.
