Taking place as always at Manse Lane, rivals Knaresborough Town AFC and Boroughbridge AFC will both be hoping for victory - and generous donations to Sadie’s charity - when they meet on Tuesday, July 14.

It’s three years this week since they lost their little Sadie aged just two to neuroblastoma, a highly rare form of childhood cancer.

Mum Katie said she hoped the game would be a fun affair, though the event will be an emotional time for herself and Sadie’s dad Darren.

“We wanted to do something nice and enjoyable to keep Sadie’s memory going.

“It’s still very raw but a lot has happened since she passed away. We have two more children, Oscar who’s two and Mollie who’s four months. It’s the first time Oscar will be able to take in what’s happening. He’s well into football.”

Once again, the Sadie Rose Charity Cup match’s main aim will be to raise as much money as possible for the Neuroblastoma Children’s Cancer Alliance (NCCA).

The couple are appealing for people to donate prizes for the charity raffle. If you can help, call 078159 68923.
