Musician and his dog answer cry for help in Harrogate
Roger Busby – and lurcher Alfie – answered a cry for help from the team at Disability Action Yorkshire, which was looking for musicians to play for residents in its Claro Road care home.
Now, every Thursday, Roger entertains both staff and residents by performing well-known hits from the 60s.

“We are really grateful to Roger and Alfie and their visit is a real highlight for all the residents and staff too. He plays songs that we all know and ones that we can sing along to.
“Alfie is as good as gold and the residents love him being there. He certainly gets all the attention.”
Disability Action Yorkshire’s care home has two identical wings, each containing 10 en-suite bedrooms, communal lounge and kitchen and dining areas and was opened by the Countess of Wessex in 2007.
