"We wanted to let everyone know the staff are all OK and still smiling, as some of our parents had expressed that their children had been asking after the adults in school.

"At Starbeck Primary Academy, we are a very close knit community, who go out of our way to support each other at all times. We enjoy making learning productive, fun and engaging and wanted to bring joy and smiles to our children’s faces. "

Mrs Pitts and Mrs Riley said they are very aware of the importance of feeling connected at this very difficult time - that even though we are unable to physically see one another in most cases, we can still feel a strong sense of togetherness and do our bit to prevent anyone from feeling lonely or isolated.

They said: "At Starbeck, we are very aware of the mental health and wellbeing of our pupils, families and staff, and therefore have made every effort to keep in touch at these difficult times with regular updates and messages.

"We wanted to reach out to all our families and let them know we are still thinking of them and some of the comments from our parents showed that we did just that. Our final message is to keep smiling, support each other, and we can’t wait to see everyone again very soon."

Praise for the video has been pouring in from parents, pupils and the wider community, with comments such as - "A lovely way to cheer up everyone in such a horrible situation," and “this is truly amazing, laughed so hard with happy tears streaming down my face.“ Another impressed viewer said: "You all really are amazing humans. The magic of Starbeck stays with you for life. Great job you wonderful people."
