Number of coronavirus deaths at Harrogate District Hospital rises to 25

The latest figures released by NHS England confirm that the total number of deaths at Harrogate District Hospital as a result of coronavirus has now risen to 25.

The news come as a further 744 people have died across England after testing positive for the virus - 93 of those in the North East and Yorkshire.

Patients were aged between 34 and 102 years old, and 58 of those patients had no known underlying health conditions.

The total number of deaths nationwide as a result of the outbreak has risen to 12,107, but figures from the Office for National Statistics suggest that the true death toll is higher, with many dying in care homes and hospices.
