A new coronavirus testing site will open in Harrogate tomorrow.

Anyone with coronavirus symptoms can get a free test at the drive-through facility at Dragon Road Car Park, Dragon Road, on Tuesday, August 25.

The testing site is being organised by the Department of Health and Social Care which has warned people to not just turn up but make an appointment first.

Anyone who is showing symptoms is being asked to register for a test on the NHS website.

Meanwhile, people who don’t have access to the internet can ring the new 119 service to book.

Key workers and members of their household should register for a test on the government website.

Tests can be booked from 8pm tonight.

The testing facility will return to the car park on Friday, August 28, when tests can also be booked from 8pm the night before.

Drive-through testing sites have previously been set up at the Old Education Offices and Hydro leisure centre in Harrogate.
